Ridge Line Hiking started on a foggy morning at a trailhead in 2026, when our founder realized she'd spent more time researching gear than actually walking. We built this site so other hikers wouldn't have to. Our mission is simple: find the trail-tested products that genuinely earn their place in your pack, and point you toward fair prices instead of inflated ones.

Who's Behind the Reviews

Our small editorial team has logged thousands of miles between us, from weekend section hikes to multi-week thru-hikes on the PCT and AT. We've worked in outdoor retail, guided backpacking trips, and learned the hard way which "ultralight" claims actually hold up after a rainy night above the treeline.

When we evaluate hiking gear, we look at:

• Real-world durability across seasons and terrain
• Honest weight-to-comfort tradeoffs
• Repairability and brand support
• Whether the price reflects what you actually get

How We Stay Independent
